From its inception in the early 1990s, to its first class in 1998, and during its first 9 years of outstanding achievement, Pioneer Middle School has been an educational flagship for its community and indeed for the state of California.
Pioneer's greatness has not been an accident - it is the product of careful design by community members who place a high value on education. The Tustin community came together to design the very best place for its young people to become outstanding community members: They chose an awe-inspiring hilltop site, commissioned an award-winning school building, filled it with the latest learning technology, hired the best staff available, and continued to stay involved, through one of the most active PTOs anywhere.
As a result, Pioneer Middle School has become one of the best reasons for families to live in Tustin. The school that is a product of the community's high standards and dedication to its children is now entering its tenth year as one of the top-performing middle schools in the United States.
